Our technicians are fully trained in all aspects of electric and engine-powered forklifts and are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to perform onsite service and repairs. Flexilift Australia provides each customer with a written report after each service or repairs. The forklift service report details specific items on your forklift truck which require attention to ensure that the forklift is in safe working order.
Forklift Safety – Why is it so important?
Every year, an alarming number of forklift operators are involved in workplace accidents. Apart from the trauma it causes, significant changes have taken place in relation to workplace safety which demand that more is done to protect forklift operators from injury. In particular WorkSafe has put in place a zero tolerance policy with regards to breaches in forklift safety. The new Work Safe Act now requires that forklifts be serviced and maintained on a regular basis; documented evidence may be required if an officer were to audit your site.
The owner or hirer of the forklifts is also responsible for ensuring that any reported defects are rectified in a reasonable period of time. This service agreement represents a part of that responsibility but cannot force repairs be carried out once reported. Flexilift Australia technicians regularly undergo training in new technologies, techniques, products and work practices related to the industry. The customer benefits with up-to date information and efficient work practices.
Forklift Safety – A mutual responsibility
As standard practice, Flexilift Australia performs a safety check on equipment as a normal process of servicing your equipment. When they complete work at a customer’s premises, the technician will report any required repairs on your job card that you must sign before he/she leaves your site We are committed to ensuring your equipment is in good safe working order at all times.
Likewise, when Flexilift Australia sends a technician to your premises to service or repair a forklift, it is the customer’s responsibility to also provide our technicians with a safe work environment. The technician should be given a place that it is uncluttered and away from other forklift traffic and in the event of rain, a place under shelter.
